Who is a better basketball player Michael Jordan or Lebron James?

This is a close call between Jordan and LeBron, but I will have to go with LeBron. LeBron is simply a beast who can score at anytime, but he is not that selfish. He is only 23 or so years old and already has numerous triple doubles and is in the top 100 scoreres in NBA history. When his career is over, he will have many championships, have been the #1 scorer in the NBA, and would have been considered the best NBA player of all time.

Michael Jordan! LeBron James may be the best around at the moment, however, Jordan is arguably the greatest ever! I think to compare them today is hugely premature.

With all his potential, Lebron James may indeed become a player of Jordanesque stature in a few years; although, Istress, I is far too early to make such a debate.

The bottom line is Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are the 3 greatest players to ever live.

Will the world end in 2012?

The main reason some people think this is (aside from the fact that they're extremely gullible) the ancient Mayan calendar essentially resets in December of 2012. Now, you might be asking yourself: "So what?" Congratulations, this is the sane response. There's no reason to believe that it will be any more significant than January 1, 2000 (in fact, since nobody still uses the Mayan calendar, there's good reason to believe it will be much less significant). After all, does a car fall apart the instant the odometer rolls over? Particularly if it's some weird aftermarket odometer that measures in furlongs or something that hardly anyone uses anymore? The Mayans themselves don't seem to have been particularly concerned by it, since there are inscriptions indicating that the anniversaries of certain events would occur on dates even further in the future than 2012: a bit odd if they really thought the world would end in 2012. If the Maya had predicted the end 300 years ago, that would have been a lot more impressive, since for their culture it more or less did. However, most predictions have to do with numbers. Writing the numbers out you get 12 21, 2012. If the world were to end as to someones prediction, it should make numerical sense. Writing it out 21 12 2112 would make more sense. It is very unlikely we will all die in 2012.

2012 is a 2009 Disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures. Filming began in August 2008 in Vancouver. The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Because of solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate, eventually causing crustal displacement. This results in an onslaught of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, ranging from California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, massive earthquakes, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.Reviews of the film have been mixed, with critics pointing out the impossibility of the Apocalyptic scenarios depicted in the film. The film ran a much criticized viral marketing campaign in the form of the fictional organization Institute for Human Continuity, a fictitious book written by Jackson Curtis entitled Farewell Atlantis, and streaming media, blog updates and radio broadcasts from the apocalyptic zealot Charlie Frost at his website entitled This Is The End.

The Greenhouse Effect

The geenhouse effect is the heating of the surface of a planet or moon due to the presence of an atmosphere containig gases that absorb and emit infrared radiation. Thus, greenhouse gases trap heat within the surface-troposphere system.

This mechanism is fundamentaly different from that of an actual greenhouse, which works by isolating warm air inside the structure so that heat is not lost by convection. The greenhouse effect was discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824, first realiby experiment on by John Tyndall in 1858, and first reported quantitatively by Svante Arrehnius in 1896.

The black body temperature of the Earth is 5.5 °C. Since the Earth´s Surface reflects about 28% of incoming sunlight, the planet´s mean temperature would be far lower, about -18 or -19 °C. Along with the added contribution of the greenhouse effect, it is instead much higher, roughly 14 °C.

Global warming, a recent warming of the Earth´s surface and lowe atmosphere, is believed to be the result of an "enhanced greenhouse effect" mostly due to human-produced increases in atmospheric greenhouse gases. This human induced part is referred to as atmospheric ghlobal warming. (AGW).

Guns and terrorism

America's lax gun laws allow foreign and domestic terrorists as well as extremists easy access to all types of weaponry. Just one example is the increasingly popular 50 caliber sniper rifle. Originally designed for military use, and currently used by U.S. troops in Iraq, these anti-armor rifles can penetrate the armor plating of armored vehicles, turn commercial jetliners into bombs on the ground, knock helicopters out of the air, and ignite railcars and stationary tank farms containing extremely hazardous, volatile, and explosive chemicals. Violence Policy Center research revealed that Al Qaeda acquired 25 of these rifles soon after they became available on the U.S. civilian market.
In addition to the 50 caliber sniper rifle, all stripes of extremists have access to a plethora of assault weapons, high-capacity ammunition magazines, loosely regulated black and smokeless powder explosive materials, body armor, explosive devices lacking the powder charge, and other materiel. In short, virtually everything needed to arm and equip a small army is available legally in the United States because of our lax laws.
There is no question that terrorists are taking advantage of America's weak gun laws. According to the Government Accountability Office, between February 3, 2004, and June 30, 2004, a total of 44 firearm-related background checks resulted in valid matches with terrorist watch list records. Nevertheless, 35 transactions were allowed to proceed because the background checks found no prohibiting information, such as felony convictions, illegal immigrant status, or other disqualifying factors. Current law is so weak that being a known member of a foreign terrorist organization does not prohibit a person from legally buying and possessing guns. The VPC is working to change that.
Another key focus of the VPC's work in this area is local, state, and federal efforts to restrict the availability of 50 caliber sniper rifles. As a direct result of the VPC's research and advocacy, in 2005 California became the first state in the nation to ban these weapons and similar bills are pending in other states and in Congress.
In addition, the VPC is working to pass effective state assault weapon bans (the federal assault weapons ban expired in September 2004). VPC research revealed that one out of five law enforcement officers slain in the line of duty was killed with an assault weapon.
Today's gun laws make weapons so available that virtually anyone can build their own "credit card army." The danger presented by the current situation lies not only with the threat posed by potential foreign terrorist attacks, but also because there is a palpable, growing unrest among domestic fringe groups and individuals who claim they are preparing for the SAR (Second American Revolution) in reaction to developments such as enactment of the Patriot Act, recent court decisions expanding the government's eminent domain powers, and a general growing distrust of government. It was just this sort of discontent that led to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. The VPC works every day to implement policies that will protect public safety and help prevent terrorists from getting guns.

Subliminal Messages are EVERYWHERE

Subliminal Messages are EVERYWHERE

SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES
A subliminal message is a message embedded in another medium designed to pass below the normal limits of perception. Usually, the messages are not readily recognized by the conscious mind, but in certain situations can and oftentimes do affect the subconscious mind. So, why do people use this messages? Ill explain it with a little example In Fort Lee, New Jersey, a movie theater ran the messages "Eat Popcorn" and "Drink Coke" every five seconds throughout the movies they showed. In six weeks, the sales of Coca-Cola went up 18 percent while popcorn sales rose an astronomical 58 percent. Why would moviegoers accept these advertisements and not simply storm out of the theater, annoyed and resolute not to purchase any soda or popcorn? The reason is these messages were only flashed for three-tenths of a millisecond, or one 3000th of a second, a time that does not allow the moviegoer to consciously "see" the message or in some cases its a really hidden message. Subliminal messages keeps our subconscious focused on the physical and superfluous - sex - money - mortality.

the internet

The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries a vast array of information resources and services, most notably the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail.
Most traditional communications media, such as telephone and television services, are reshaped or redefined using the technologies of the Internet, giving rise to services such as
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IPTV. Newspaper publishing has been reshaped into Web sites, blogging, and web feeds. The Internet has enabled or accelerated the creation of new forms of human interactions through instant messaging, Internet forums, and social networking sites.
The origins of the Internet reach back to the 1960s when the United States funded research projects of its military agencies to build robust, fault-tolerant and distributed computer networks. This research and a period of civilian funding of a new U.S.
backbone by the National Science Foundation spawned worldwide participation in the development of new networking technologies and led to the commercialization of an international network in the mid 1990s, and resulted in the following popularization of countless applications in virtually every aspect of modern human life. As of 2009, an estimated quarter of Earth's population uses the services of the Internet.
The Internet has no centralized governance in either technological implementation or policies for access and usage; each constituent network sets its own standards. Only the overreaching definitions of the two principal
name spaces in the Internet, the Internet Protocol address space and the Domain Name System, are directed by a maintainer organization, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The technical underpinning and standardization of the core protocols (IPv4 and IPv6) is an activity of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), a non-profit organization of loosely-affiliated international participants that anyone may associate with by contributing technical expertise.

The best tennis players and their difficulties.

By: Andrés González

The best tennis player for me is Roger Federer because os a tennis player with the best technique, is very fast, he is the number 1 in world ranking and have won 16 grand slams, he beat a record and is a legend because healso do charity to poor people and for me that is a good player.

Other splayers are Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick, Juan Martin Del Potro, etc. This tennis player are very nice and have won several titles and grand slams, but no body for me is better than Roger Federer.

Some tennis player have a time of crisis like Rafa Nadal because he have a problem with his knees and because of that he couldn`t play Roland Garros AND wIMBLEDON and there he start lossing and lossing games and start been bad, then he start changing his service and his shots and that make him have problems with his arms and legs, but this could happen to any boby and is a problem that they can solve and go with your arrer.

I like tennis and I play it so thats why I talk about this.

music

Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch which governs melody and harmony, rhythm and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.
The creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of music vary according to culture and social context. Music ranges from strictly organized compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to aleatoric forms. Music can be divided into genres and subgenres, although the dividing lines and relationships between music genres are often subtle, sometimes open to individual interpretation, and occasionally controversial. Within the arts, music may be classified as a performing art, a fine art, and auditory art.
To many people in many cultures music is an important part of their way of life.
Greek philosophers and ancient Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as "the harmony of the spheres" and "it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is often ordered and pleasant to listen to. However, 20th-century composer John Cage thought that any sound can be music, saying, for example, "There is no noise, only sound. According to musicologist Jean-Jacques Nattiez, "the border between music and noise is always culturally defined which implies that, even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place; in short, there is rarely a consensus.... By all accounts there is no single and intercultural universal concept defining what music might be, except that it is 'sound through time.

The best videogames

By: Andrés González

The videogames are very useful to develop your mind, specially the game sthat are about strategy and war because they let you think a lot.

All the videogames have its special caracteristics like one is for fight like super smash bros, the other is for entertainment like guitar hero 5 thet is the modern of all guitar hero, the other for strategy and 2 of the best of them are call of duty 4 and halo 3 that have the best graphics and the best effects.

For me videogames are good for evryone if you play it not evry time but you can play like 3 days in a week and is good and fun.

Polar Bears Extinction

Polar bears could be extinct in 100 years if climate change continues to melt the North Pole's ice.

The North Pole's 'permanent' ice is melting by 10% each year and is likely to speed up as the white ice no longer reflects the sun's heat.

Bears need the ice to feed. They can smell the seals under the ice and can break through it to catch them, or just wait for them to come up for air. Polar bears have always been able to survive the summers with little food, but now, with longer between the ice forming, they are suffering and getting a lot thinner.

Starving bears have fewer cubs and are more likely to come to human settlements searching for food on dumps etc. Here they will be more at risk from humans.

Recipe For Friendship*

What determines friendship? What ingredients are necessary for a true friendship to hold forth? Is it someone who calls you on the phone a few times a week? Or someone who goes for morning runs with you? How about someone you share a meal with once a week or go to church with on Sundays? Is it someone who listens to you, cries with you, laughs with you? Or is it someone who goes shopping with you on Saturdays? I have “friends" I do all of the above with my friends But, are these things what determine a recipe for friendship? Are they what bind a friendship into solidity? Yes and no. Yes, they are partial ingredients but they are not the “glue" that hold a friendship through the years. The glue through the years of gladness and joy but also sadness and pain.

Recipe

Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow

Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above

Dissolve the hate within you
By doing a good deed
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need

Stir in laughter, love, and kindness
From the heart it has to come
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some

The amount of people served
Will depend on you
It can serve the whole wide world
If you really want it to
